Both Clinton and Obama are on the right track, but it's a message that will need to be repeated over and over again:

It's exciting because people want to be involved. But, the differences ... pale in comparison to the differences between us and Senator McCain." -- Hillary Clinton
"There are going to be some bruised feelings, whoever the nominee is. We are going to have to come together and remind ourselves that there is a heck of a lot bigger difference between either Senator Clinton or myself, and John McCain." -- Barack Obama
In other words, if you are a supporter of either of these candidates, don't get so caught up in your loyalty that you decide to vote for John McCain out of some misguided protest vote.
When asked what she would say to any Democratic voter considering doing this, Clinton said:"Please think through this decision. It is not a wise decision."
Let's keep our eyes on the prize, my fellow JelloHeads. In the end it's about getting a Democrat back in the White House, remember?

I definitely plan on voting Democrat this time around. But please remember, folks, just because these people say they're going to end the war, doesn't mean that they necessarily will. Harken back to Nixon in 68 and 72. That, and the fact that Hillary's record on truthfulness and paranoia has at times been not just been Clintonesque....but Nixonesque, as well.
Will, at this point I don't think there are very many people left who believe that just because a politician says they'll do something, they actually will.
I think all of the candidates in all of the parties say what they think the voters want to hear.

And it's not just about the war. It's about choice, it's about gay rights, it's about the environment, it's about the constitution. We have to remember that.
You're right, Sue. That's why I liked Paul Tsongas so much. He DIDN'T pander. He went to Florida (of all places!) and told the people down there that we needed to look at means-testing Social Security. Needless to say, he lost the Florida primary to (it still hurts to say this) Bill Clinton.
Voters don't really want anyone who tells them the truth...sad to say.
